How much aTruck Dispatcher earns

Any course that puts a number on its first screen is quoting either the top of the range or a made-up figure. Here you get only numbers with a source and a date, two pay models, and an honest list of what the income depends on.

Two models: salaried and on a percentage

In the US a dispatcher usually works one of two ways. The first is on staff at a carrier or a broker: a fixed salary in dollars, sometimes with a volume bonus. These are the jobs the salary sites count, and for them there are verifiable figures — see the table below.

The second is a remote dispatcher on a percentage: you run the trucks of one or several carriers and take a share of the freight rate on every closed load. This is how most dispatchers from Moldova work. There is no public statistic here, because the income is made of three variables: how many trucks you run, what they gross, and what percentage is written in your agreement with the carrier.

What percentage-based income depends on

The number at the end of the month is not a property of the profession; it is the result of four things.

01

Number of trucks: one truck is one driver you serve; experienced dispatchers run several.

02

Truck and freight type: reefer and flatbed pay more than dry van, and a car hauler is paid per vehicle rather than per mile — every market has its own rate.

03

Negotiation: dozens of dispatchers see the same load on the board; the rate is set by the call with the broker, not by the board.

04

Season and market: rates move week to week — higher in peak season and in regions short of trucks, lower in January.

The percentage in the agreement is negotiated with the carrier and differs between companies. On the consultation the instructor gives the range from their own practice — out loud rather than on the site, because it depends on your situation.

From Moldova: what changes

A remote dispatcher works with American carriers on US time — the working day starts in the afternoon Chișinău time and ends around midnight. The income arrives in dollars while the expenses stay in lei: that is the main reason the profession is attractive from here.

Registering your activity and taxes for working with a foreign company are a separate topic worth discussing with an accountant before the first contract. We do not teach that and do not give tax advice.

What we do not promise

Freight Path Academy does not quote its graduates' income and does not guarantee it: it depends on your practice, your English, your negotiation and how many trucks you take on. What we do is teach you to find a load, calculate a rate and run the call with the broker so that those variables work for you.

Figures are per year before tax, from two salary sites on the date we checked. The gap between the sources comes from methodology: different sets of job postings and surveys. This is the US market, not the income of the academy's graduates.

03Questions on the topic

On US salary sites the entry level for a salaried position is around $56,000 a year (Talent.com, 12.09.2026). For a remote dispatcher on a percentage there is no figure: in the first months you usually run one truck, and the income grows with the number of trucks and the quality of your negotiation.

Yes, American carriers and brokers settle in dollars. How you receive and declare it in Moldova is a question for an accountant — we do not handle that.

Percentage-based dispatchers often work with several carriers at once — that is exactly how income grows. The limit is your time and the quality of work on every truck.

Because it would be a promise we cannot stand behind: income depends on the person, the company and the market. We quote only verifiable market figures and say honestly what the rest depends on.
