Truck Dispatcher:how the job works
A dispatcher is the person who runs the commercial side of a truck: finds loads, agrees rates and manages the trip from pickup to delivery. Here is the profession without the gloss.

02From the inside
What a dispatcher'sday is made of
It is work with people and numbers in real time. It is never boring; it can be chaotic if you have no system. The system is what we teach.
Morning
You check where the trucks are and how the current trips are going. You look at the load boards: what has appeared on the routes you need.
Midday
Calls and emails to brokers: you clarify details, negotiate the rate, book loads. You handle the rate confirmation.
In progress
You run the trip: contact with the driver, pickup and delivery statuses, handling what comes up — a delay, a breakdown, a changed address.
Finish
You close the paperwork for the trip: BOL, invoice. You plan the next load so the truck does not sit empty.
03Specialisation
Car Hauling —our specialisation
Freight Path Academy trains dispatchers specifically for moving vehicles. The niche has its own rules — and that is an advantage: you come out with a concrete specialisation instead of a bit of everything.
A car carrier moves 5–9 vehicles — the load is assembled from several orders into one route
The sources of freight are specific: auctions (Copart, Manheim), dealers, private owners
Its own platforms: Central Dispatch, Super Dispatch — which we teach hands-on
Loading logic matters: which vehicle goes where and in what order it comes off
The cost of a mistake is higher: damage to a vehicle is a claim, so the paperwork is critical
